Published by Awelty, doomby is the international sister site of E-monsite.com: the French-language version of doomby first released in 2004, and one of the 200 most-visited French websites. doomby was released in late 2009, coinciding with the 500000th website created using the doomby/E-monsite platform.
Doomby allows the creation of an unlimited number of webpages, and is regularly updated with new features. The help and support services (which in France include a phone support hotline) are reactive and entirely free. The member community is an integral part of the website creation process, with members very active on the forum and in producing 'how to' tutorials.
The user interface is designed to provide easy access to the key page-creation and site-management features, using a combination of menubars and tabs, together with drag-and-drop management of key design elements like menus and images. Advanced users can activate additional editing options to provide a more fine-grained control over the conception of pages and the management of their websites.
The registration process is quick, and simply involves providing a few personal details. The username chosen during sign-up becomes the first part of the member's website address (username.doomby.com), and as soon as registration is completed the member can access their website online as well as begin personalizing their content via their website manager.
Doomby accounts are free, and include unlimited webpages, free file and website hosting, in exchange for the inclusion of limited advertizing on member websites. A number of subscriber services are also available to extend websites, including doombyPLUS (45 euros/yr) which removes advertizing, increases file storage space together amongst other services. Members can also subscribe to a personalized domain name (from 20 euros/yr) or a full-featured online store (e-commerce solution, including full back-office management) to integrate directly into their existing website (155 euros/yr).
